When you walk into a quilt shop full of fabric, which are the colors that draw your eye and you find yourself walking towards first? What are the colors in quilts that have you thinking “Wow! That’s gorgeous, I’ve got to make that one”?
I don’t know about you, but if I don’t like the color of something, I’m probably not going to spend a whole lot of time looking at it. Who knows how much I’m missing! Sometimes it takes someone saying, “Hey, come and check this out” before I take a closer look and discover something that’s really wonderful – even if it’s not made in my favorite colors.
When you see something in a color you don’t particularly care for, how good are you at visualizing it in different colors? Can you see the possibilities in the design if it were made in your colors?
What do you think about this new version that is done in Michael Miller’s Fairy Frost?
The second version is a lot softer – and more soothing to the eyes. The fabric requirements are slightly different because of the different placement of colors:
- Fairy Frost Mint, 1 yard (a generous one!)
- Fairy Frost Sage, 1 3/4 yards
- Fairy Frost Mermaid, 1/4 yard
- Fairy Frost Glass, 3/8 yard
- Fairy Frost Ribbon, 3/8 yard
- Appliqué shapes – scraps of your choice
What colors will you use to create your Petal Power table runner? To make it easier for you to visualize it, I have a gift for you.
